A firm-fleshed, oil-rich fish with an iridescent silver and blue striped skin. Fortunately it’s one of few fish stocks not currently at risk from over-fishing.
Mackerel is a delicious nutritious fish, with intense creamy meat packed with omega-3 fatty acids, can be served grilled, fried, barbecued or poached and is perfect for stuffing and oven-baking; also as sushi and sashimi.
