The most common fast lunch idea in Italy is pizza, what would we do without!
Being on a gluten-free diet it’s kind of difficult to get a decent one (if at all) out of the “pizza al taglio” typical roman shops. Luckily I know where to buy it. When in Rome the best is from a nice little shop Sans de blé near Saint Paul Basilica subway station.
I’m usually buying it “Bianca” (it translates “white” by it means “plain”) and use it as a blank canvas for all kind of seasonal stuffing.

In September we have the best figs hence “Pizza e Fichi”. A layer of thinly sliced prosciutto crudo and as many figs as you like; it’s so easy to make that you can managed it on the go on your lap. Really delicious!!!
