“Farther than Abruzzi”: Boccaccio made one of his characters say it to give a sense of the distant, of the secluded, of the fabulous. And his can certainly be taken as a proverbial expression to designate the condition and history of Abruzzi Region.

“Più in là che Abruzzi”, faceva dire il Boccaccio a un suo personaggio per dare il senso del lontano, dell’appartato, del favoloso. E la sua può sicuramente essere assunta a espressione proverbiale per designare la condizione e la storia abruzzesi. (Mario Pomilio).
