My journey of discovering the classic Italian dishes starts in Lombardy (a Northern region of Italy), inspired by the words of Mario Soldati (Italian writer, film director and passionate foodie):
The village of Frattura Vecchia (in the Marsican area of the Abruzzi Region) was build on a fracture caused by an earthquake in prehistoric times, that also blocked the Sagittario River and formed the Lake of Scanno (the heart-shaped lake).
Welcome to Campo Imperatore (“Emperor’s Field”), a plateau located in the L’Aquila province of the Abruzzi region, that ranges from 1,500 to 1,900 meters.
